Aisu Kyandi (アイスキャンディー)
Japan
A light refreshing dessert in the form of frozen fruit sticks, popular in Japan during hot summer months. It is prepared in three variants – milk, pineapple, and adzuki bean.
Ingredients
- 4 tablespoon condensed milk
- 200 ml milk
- 4 pcs canned pineapple
- to taste portion adzuki beans
- to taste portion sugar
- to taste portion water
- several pcs wooden sticks
Steps
-
In a bowl combine condensed milk with milk, mix well. Pour the resulting mixture into one ice mold, insert a wooden stick into each compartment so that its end protrudes outward. Place the mold in the freezer.
-
For the pineapple ice, finely chop the rings of canned pineapple and distribute them evenly among the compartments of a second mold. Prepare a syrup from the same pineapple, add sugar, mix and pour the resulting liquid into the mold. Insert a stick into each compartment and freeze.
-
For the adzuki bean fruit ice, mix adzuki beans with sugar and water until smooth. Pour the mixture into a third mold, insert sticks and place in the freezer.
-
Leave all molds in the freezer for 5‑6 hours. To release the ice, prepare a large tray, pour boiling water onto it and submerge the mold for 10 seconds, then remove, let stand another 10 seconds and carefully lift the frozen ice, holding it by the stick.
