Dalgona Coffee (달고나 커피)

Whipped coffee made from instant coffee, sugar and hot water creates a light caramel foam that is placed on top of cold or warm milk. The drink resembles the Korean candy “dalgona” and has a delicate aroma.
Ingredients
- 2 tablespoon instant coffee
- 2 tablespoon sugar
- 2 tablespoon hot water
- 1 cup milk
- optional ice
Steps

In a large bowl add instant coffee, sugar and hot water.

Whisk with a hand mixer (start on low speed, then increase) until a light caramel‑colored thick airy foam forms (about 3–4 minutes).

If needed, use a rubber spatula to scrape the sides of the bowl so the mixture whips evenly.

Pour about two‑thirds to three‑quarters of a cup of milk into a glass, add ice cubes if you want a cold drink.

Gently spoon the coffee foam on top. If desired, sprinkle broken dalgona candy pieces over it.
